Position Overview: 

HAEFA seeks an experienced Ambulance Driver for our Healthcare Services Program Funded by PWC & HAEFA, USA for the Rohingya intervention for the FDMN at FDMN Camp, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. This role involves the safe transportation of patients, medical staff, and equipment, as well as the maintenance of the ambulance and ensuring high-quality service.

Major tasks and responsibilities
  • Safely transport patients, medical staff, and equipment to and from healthcare facilities and locations as required.
  • Maintain the ambulance in a clean and operational condition, performing routine checks and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Update the immediate supervisor before arrival and after departure.
  • Use a logbook to keep track of ambulance runs, service, and inspections, and maintain detailed records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
  • The log book should be signed by the local HAEFA supervisors in Ukhiya, FDMN- DAILY by the end of the service DAILY in Ukhiya/CXB.
  • A copy of the log book will be scanned and sent to Dhaka Office by email to Operations and HR as well as the CD, SD, and Project Manager, every Saturday morning.
  • Ensure all necessary medical supplies and equipment are stocked and available in the ambulance.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
  • Provide timely and efficient transport in emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading patients and medical equipment as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients, respecting their dignity and privacy.
  • Follow all HAEFA policies and procedures related to patient care and transportation.

Educational Qualifications: Minimum SSC level.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Valid driving license (Light/Heavy) with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an ambulance driver or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality service to patients and medical staff.
  • Technological Competencies.
  • Basic proficiency in using communication devices and GPS systems.
 

Salary: BDT 30,000/- per month, consolidated. No overtime or annual/festival bonus unless provided by the donor organization

Additional Information: No breakfast, lunch, or dinner will be provided during official regular travel. Candidates are responsible for their meals during daily routine working hours. However, for tours to other upazila & districts, per diem for food and accommodation (if necessary) will be provided as per HAEFA policies.

HAEFA is looking for a Clinical Lab Technologist, a dynamic professional ready to accept the challenges of humanitarian work for its FDMN health programs. The Clinical Lab Technologist should be self-motivated, proactive, willing to learn new strategies and program procedures, and able to generate reports and swiftly handle donors, project stakeholders, and local government/International delegates. Major tasks and responsibilities
  • Performing specimen analysis by using laboratory tools and equipment, in order to study samples and perform necessary tests.
  • Looking for abnormalities in samples that evidence disease and conveying this information to therelevant medical practitioner.
  • Provide advice and interpretation of test results and the appropriateness of further investigations.
  • Using checklists, medical software, and retesting to get thorough and precise results.
  • Writing pathology reports detailing specimens tested, results of tests, and the final diagnosis.
  • Discussing the patient's results with respective consultants or doctors.
  • Undertaking research for new information to improve identification and testing methods and finding innovative ways to treat disease.
  • Staying up to date with developments in the fields of pathology and medical practice.
  • Log data from lab tests and enter results in patient's record.
  • Capacity building of staff working under him/her.
  • Health & Safety
  • Comply with established health and safety policies with regard to handling of instruments, storage of drugs and disposal of sharps and other potentially dangerous equipment and substances. Comply with current NZ legislation.
  • IPC Management and others
  • Provide training on IPC, donning and doffing of PPE items.
  • Monitor triage, early recognition and source control.
  • Supervise instrument processing.
  • Monitor waste management in the hospital.
  • Contribute in ensuring the safeguarding in the organization.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 1 year of experience in relevant field Three years of Diploma in Medical Technology from any recognized institution (medical technologist). Minimum 2 (two) years of experience in a relevant field or area of health program management.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team with field mobilization. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft word, and Microsoft Excel is preferable. Willingness to conduct outreach sputum collection/smearing center at the field. GencXpert experience will be preferred.
  • Minimum, especially in TB.
Experience: at least 2 years
Additional Requirments : 
  • Experience in using lab testing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of medical data management software.
  • Exceptional analytical and research skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, both in English and Bangla.
  • At least 2 (two) years` work experience in the relevant position.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision & excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility.

Major tasks and responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient consultations and physical examinations, monitoring and administering patient medication;
  • Assess and plan patient treatment and referral requirements;
  • Promote health education to beneficiaries and coordinate with community leaders and other stakeholders;
  • Coordinate and manage Local Government (CIC/RRRC), DGHS authorities, UN organizations, NGOs, and INGOs;
  • Response to patients’ medical problems by referring to their history, carrying out diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and referral where necessary;
  • Recommend patients for lab tests and analyze test results;
  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
  • Collect records and maintain sensitive patient information, such as examination results, medical history, and reports, in NIROG Tab and database in a password-protected and HIPAA-compliant (patient confidentiality) manner;
  • Conduct minor surgeries and explain procedures or prescribed treatments to patients;
  • Liaise with medical professionals in the community and hospitals
  • Promote health education in conjunction with other health professionals;
  • Participate in the supervision of medical camps training, seminars, and meetings;
  • Assist reporting, and data recording, coordinate with the project team, and Dhaka office: and
  • Any other task assigned by the Project Coordinator and Country Director from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications: BMDC registered Medical Graduate (MBBS). Must mention BMDC registration number in the application.

HAEFA is looking for a BMDC-registered, dynamic Technical Coordinator, TB Control ready to accept challenges of humanitarian work for its Cox’s Bazar health programs. The coordinator should be self-motivated, proactive, willing to learn new diagnostic and treatment procedures, and able to generate reports and promote health education while maintaining coordination with the community leaders, project stakeholders, and local government. Empathy for people from disadvantaged and underprivileged backgrounds is considered a key quality at HAEFA. The HGSP project will develop a dynamic, strategic, and fresh approach to accelerate Bangladesh’s fight against TB. The solutions will be aimed at creating an environment aligned with the universal health coverage (UHC) vision and focused on defined priority areas – increased TB detection, child TB, expanded prevention, and others.

The Technical Coordinator, TB Control will report to the Project Director. The position holder will be responsible for providing technical assistance to roll out all TB programme implementation in the field sites (hospital facilities and communities) by coordinating with the local and central management team, GoB stakeholders, partner NGOs and other stakeholders/sub-recipients. S/he will be involved in–

  • Understand the TB programme and plan for its implementation (milestones, deliverables etc.), align implementation plans across partners;
  • Conduct regular meetings with the field team to monitor deliverables against timelines and criteria, and share it with the supervisor and central team;
  • Develop training and programme materials; Conduct and facilitate TB training, Active Case Finding (ACF) and other TB related training;
  • Assign work to the team and initiate activities as per plan, coach staff to address issues faced during field-work, maintain the quality of the ongoing TB activities;
  • Build rapport with all the stakeholders in the assigned divisions, maintain liaison with relevant Govt. Officials, NTP authority, and relevant stakeholders within the designated areas;
  • Visits to the field sites, onsite meetings with the team, meeting with relevant authorities, prepare visit reports for submission to project leads, provide comments and recommendations, follow-up to ensure the quality of data collection;
  • Supervise field team members and provide directions to ensure smooth and efficient implementation of TB activities, track consumption of financial & non-financial resources, take corrective actions to comply with donor mandates and project implementation plans
  • Brainstorm new research ideas and develop operational research protocols as instructed by the principal investigator, create detailed research design and methodology to achieve the objectives, estimate budget based on the methodology.

Required qualification and experience:

  • MBBS from a reputed medical institute in Bangladesh with valid registration from BMDC with a one-year internship; An additional Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) will be given preference.
  • Minimum 03 years of working experience is required (under Medicine/ Paediatric department or in Public Health); Knowledge and experience on TB patient management or working experiences under TB project/programme will be considered as an added advantage.
